KEVIN CHIANG

Kevin is a builder of products and processes that can deliver value. His favorite part of the journey is discovering what the business and customer define as value which always provides insight, motivation and empathy that fuels the work.

Kevin has been part of innovative teams at Toyota Connected, AT&T, Slalom Consulting, and IBM. His current role at Meta allows him to help small businesses globally to learn and succeed using its Ads ecosystem to grow their businesses.

Outside of spending time with his wife, two kids and golden retriever, Kevin is a golf enthusiast. He's excited to see both kids showing interest in the game and a sense of hope that more rounds are destined in the near future.

STEPHANIE FRISWELL

Stephanie is a strategic thinker, trusted advisor, and subject matter expert in communications initiatives, media strategies, and branding campaigns.

She currently serves as Director of Public Relations at Capital One, leading cross-functional teams and collaborating with senior leadership to drive effective internal and external business communications.

After pioneering programs at Intuit, including creating and launching Intuit’s first job readiness corporate responsibility infrastructure, Stephanie hopes to establish program pillars, develop new communications strategies, and help to define tactical roadmaps to drive further success at The Big Give. 

She currently lives in McKinney, Texas, with her amazing, charming and handsome husband, Russell, and their children who give her life, everyday.

CATHERINE KA'ALANI

Catherine discovered her passion for helping people and organizations flourish by managing learning programs in organizations. Her work with nonprofits has focused on helping to grow professional communities through a variety of channels, including technological tools and conferences, which dovetails nicely into the hackathon world.

Catherine holds a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration from UT Dallas. 

She is extremely fond of all dogs, but mostly the extremely shaggy ones. Much to the chagrin of her dieting husband, she is a phenomenal baker, crafting the most delicious and gluten-filled desserts one could ever dream of.

GEOFF KA'ALANI

Geoff has been crafting interactive experiences for small businesses, nonprofits and tiny startups and giant corporations since 1997. While working at nonprofits, he noted the lack of technological resources in design, development, content, social media and marketing—even basic security hygiene.

Geoff felt compelled to do more for Dallas and the North Texas nonprofit community, which has over 11,000 nonprofits registered alone, and vowed to fill this need with skills-based volunteering.

Geoff is currently a Design Manager at H-E-B Digital and is passionate about improving digital tools for and to positively impact the lives of hundreds of thousands of Partners.

Ask him about Texas BBQ or he and his wife’s fixer-upper, because he’s got strong opinions about both.

Laura Martinez

Laura has been designing things in the hopes of making people’s lives better for over 15 years for big companies, small start ups, nonprofits and many people and businesses that fit somewhere in between. 

She is passionate about helping people realize their full potential and unlock the amazing things inside of them - especially those less fortunate who may not be aware of their abilities because they have never had exposure to what they could truly achieve. She continually advocates for the power of design beyond web screens and app concepts. 

Laura currently leads the product and marketing design teams as the Head of Design for Auto Refinance at Capital One. She lives in Grapevine with her husband Frank, her daughter Celia, and her two rescue mutts, Lola and Chuy.   

JUSTIN WILLIAMS

Justin is a natural born tinkerer and breaker of things. From an early age he had to know how everything worked by taking it apart and reassembling it - much to his parents frustration. He found his home in Software Engineering where such behavior is encouraged and celebrated.

In his professional life Justin enjoys mentoring young engineers, building products from the ground up, and working closely with customers and stakeholders hoping to bridge the gap between the non-technical and the technical. He usually finds himself at either small or really small startups where he gets to be hands on with end users, product design, and system architecture.

Justin, his wife and daughter enjoy traveling the world together, going on cross country road trips, and finding the best ice cream shops along the way. They also enjoy cooking, gardening, and fixer-upper projects around their house together.

HAYDEE YOUNG

Haydee is a licensed Social Worker with 22 years of experience in working with non-profits in the DFW area.  She is an adjunct professor for The University of Texas at Arlington School of Social Work where she has been training future social workers for the last 9 years.

Haydee has a passion for working with children and families, by providing services or connecting them to agencies and resources in their community.

Haydee currently serves as the Outreach Manager for the Grapevine Police Department where she assists the police department in creating and implementing their programs with the residents of Grapevine.
